Study Information Service

The National Library of Public Information is a library specifically tasked by the Ministry of Education with counseling studying-abroad services in central Taiwan. The Study Information Center was established in 1990 to provide the public with various information and consultation services on studying abroad. Our service items include studying-abroad-related references, consultation services, and hosting study-abroad orientations. We wish to guide and educate the general public on how to self-search for studying abroad information and self-conduct relevant applications via the functions of a public library.

Studying-abroad references

We collect references and information on studying abroad in America, Canada, Australia, Britain, Europe, and Japan, covering colleges and graduate schools, rankings, scholarships, short-term studies, summer schools, language capability tests, applications, and life abroad.

Studying-abroad Consultations

With the choices for studying abroad being so diverse, how to grasp and utilize information resources in the processes of choosing, applying, and planning for studying abroad are integral. Libraries play a major role of an information station in providing this information. Our studying-abroad consultation services include: studying-abroad reference resources, language capability test preparations, government scholarship and other scholarships, Internet resource utilization, and consultation referral services.

Study-abroad Lectures

Studying abroad lectures are held monthly with topics on the country, department, and national culture. Our current collaborators include: Foundation for Scholarly Exchange, American Institute in Taiwan's Taiwan Education Association, British Council, LA FRANCE A TAIWAN's CAMPUS FRANCE, and the Australian Office. The previously mentioned organizations send their professional education consultants to our library for lectures, and provide one-on-one consultation services. Out of which, we collaborate with the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange in the form of video conferencing so as not to inconvenience students in the more remote central regions.
