NLPI has developed accessible and diverse lifelong learning resources for older adults, enabling readers to enjoy reading and learning at their own pace. Whether through e-books, newspapers and magazines, video content, or audiobooks, users can access a wide range of materials through a single platform, making learning more flexible and enriching everyday life.

  • To access the library’s digital resources, please visit the E-Resources System portal.
  • Log in using your NLPI library card account (National ID number) and password to gain full access to the library’s digital collections.
  • If you have not yet applied for a library card, please select “Apply Online” to register.

United Knowledge Database – Original Newspaper Archive (United Daily News, Economic Daily News, HaoDu Weekly)

Provides digitized editions of the latest United Daily News and Economic Daily News (updated daily at 6 a.m.), as well as HaoDu Weekly (updated every Monday). Users can browse and search both current and past issues, including full-page newspapers and summaries. Content covers national and local news, charts, and advertisements. HaoDu Weekly is specially designed for young readers, focusing on reading and writing skills.

  • Note: The United Evening News ceased publication on June 2, 2020.
  • User access: United Daily News and Economic Daily News – 12 users; HaoDu Weekly – 10 users.

KONO for Libraries: Featured Magazine Database

This database features at least 200 popular publications from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea, covering a wide range of topics with titles such as Global Views Monthly, Business Weekly, Today Weekly, iPhone Secret King, ELLE, VOGUE, CNN Interactive English, and Common Health Magazine. The platform provides access to both current and back issues, offering convenient features such as full-text downloads, offline reading, and keyword searching. To access the service, please log in using your National Library of Public Information (NLPI) account (National ID number) and password. For mobile users, the "Kono Libraries" app is available for download to enhance your reading experience.

CommonWealth Magazine Group Knowledge Base

This knowledge base features content from CommonWealth Magazine, CommonHealth Magazine, Cheers, and CommonWealth Parenting since their launch, along with a total of seven knowledge bases, including Special Editions Knowledge Base, CommonWealth English, and the CommonWealth Research Center. The collection covers finance, management, education, health, workplace, and digital technology.

E-Book Online Service

Our platform primarily offers traditional Chinese e-books, now featuring over 50,000 titles and 490,000 volumes. It supports online reading on multiple devices, including PCs, laptops, and iOS or Android mobile devices, providing 24/7 access so users can easily access digital resources anytime, anywhere.

  • Readers of NLPI and Taichung City Library can log in directly with their library account (ID number) and password to access e-books.
  • Holders of cooperative library cards from participating libraries can log into the partner library catalog, then add or activate their NLPI account to borrow e-books directly using their library credentials (username: ID number; password: uppercase first letter of ID + birthdate in YYYYMMDD format).
  • Readers from other public libraries can borrow e-books after registering as members.
  • Mobile users can download the iLib Reader app for reading.

SunnyAudios Library – ShangYi Education Audio Cloud

SunnyAudios Library offers 125 audio titles, including audiobooks and courses. Carefully selected classics, bestsellers, and various courses are transformed into audiobooks, courses, and dramatized audio content. Topics cover literary classics, cultural aesthetics, philosophical reflections, interpersonal skills, personal growth, and professional development. Users can enjoy reading and learning effortlessly through listening.

  • Available for public playback within the library and for personal use. Offsite access is limited to personal listening only (public playback not permitted).
  • Supports up to 20 simultaneous users.

EZ Movie – Digital Public Screening Platform

EZ Movie offers approximately 150 films, including mainstream movies and educational videos. Users can intuitively browse and enjoy a variety of public-screening digital content online, featuring titles from major distributors such as Disney, Sony, WB, MARVEL, and PIXAR. The collection covers themes including gender equality, family and parenting, environmental conservation, human rights and law, career development, and life education.

  • Log in using your National Library account (ID number) and password.
  • Maximum simultaneous online users: 20
  • Copyright notice: All content on this platform is for personal viewing only. Any use for public screenings outside the library (e.g., in classrooms or at home) is strictly prohibited.

Classroom Theater – Shared Film Platform

Classroom Theater offers over 400 legally licensed films with educational value, covering diverse themes such as gender, life education, human rights, and special education. Readers can enjoy high-quality audiovisual content anytime, anywhere, on their smartphone, tablet, or computer, with new films added every month.

  • Login: Use your national public library account or National Library account (ID number) and password.
  • Viewing Guidelines: Up to 80 viewers can watch the same film online simultaneously.
  • Copyright Notice: All content on this platform is for personal viewing only. Public screening of any material is strictly prohibited.
